Our story
From Tasmania to Paradise Point

A fresh start on the Gold Coast
The Golden Clove is a fresh start, built on restaurant experience, a shared love of food and a wish to bring the flavours of Indian cooking to a new community. Mantek and Sadiksha moved from Tasmania to the Gold Coast to make that happen. The move was a practical step, and it was also a personal one: a chance to build something together in a new place.
The restaurant is not a branch or a franchise of another business. It is their own restaurant in Paradise Point, shaped by the work they did before they came north.
The people behind The Golden Clove
Mantek
Mantek is a co-founder of The Golden Clove. Before moving to the Gold Coast, he helped establish Tassie Dhaba in Tasmania as an original co-founder and head chef. That experience in a working kitchen shapes how the team plans service, prepares dishes and runs the pass on a busy night.
Sadiksha
Sadiksha is Mantek's wife and a co-founder of The Golden Clove. Together they have brought their restaurant background, their attention to hospitality and their wish to make people feel welcome to the new venue.
A new home by the marina
The Golden Clove sits at Marina Promenade in Paradise Point. The dining room looks out towards the marina, so the setting is calm and open, especially in the evening. It suits a relaxed dinner, a catch-up with friends or a table for a small celebration. The bar is part of the same venue, so you can plan a drink before or after your meal.
Our photographs show the dining room and the view from a table. They are a good guide to what the room feels like. The setting has changed since Tasmania, but the purpose has not: good food, a warm table and a place where people feel at home.
From the kitchen
Our kitchen works from a menu of Indian dishes that changes as the team refines it. We will not claim a particular family recipe or a specific origin for every dish in this story. What we can say is that the cooking is made fresh in our kitchen, and the menu shows the current dishes, descriptions and prices. If you have a question about how a dish is prepared, ask the team before you order.
Food photography on the website is for the menu, the booking page and this page. Photographs show the presentation of dishes; they do not tell you what is in them. For dietary questions, use the allergens page.
We would also like to be clear about what the story is and is not. It is a description of Mantek and Sadiksha's background and the restaurant they have built in Paradise Point. It is not a claim about awards, a long history of trading or a family tradition beyond what is stated here. We would rather tell you the facts we are sure of than make the story sound bigger than it is.
Our approach to the table
For us, a good meal is about more than the dishes on the plate. It is about the pace of the evening, the way the team looks after your table, and whether you leave feeling you have had time with the people you came with. We try to explain dishes honestly, answer questions about spice and preferences, and tell you when something is not available rather than leaving you to find out later.
The same approach applies to pickup. When you order to take home, we want the order to be clear, the collection time to be realistic and the food to be ready when you arrive. If something goes wrong, we would rather hear about it from you than not.
What we want guests to feel
We want people to feel welcome whether they come for a quiet dinner for two or a table of friends. We would like guests to leave with a clear sense of the food, the setting and the people who made it. Feedback is welcome. You can tell us privately through the contact details on the contact page. If you enjoy your visit, a public review on Google helps other people find us, but please only leave a review based on your own experience.
Coming to dinner with friends and family
Many of our guests come with a group rather than alone. A table for two often turns into a table for six once a friend joins, and we like that. The dining room suits relaxed conversation, sharing dishes and staying a while. If you are bringing family, including children, mention it when you book so we can plan the table with you. Our booking page explains how to choose a time and party size.
